As of January 1, 2026, new California laws (Assembly Bill 1263 and Senate Bill 704) have introduced strict requirements for the sale and direct shipment of certain firearm-related items to California residents. These include many firearm accessories, parts, conversion kits, and unattached firearm barrels.
To remain in full compliance with these regulations, Nimrod's Wares will continue to ship affected products directly to California customers, but only if the following requirements are met:
- Age and Identity Verification: Customers must be at least 18 years old. We will require upload of a valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state ID, or passport) to verify age, identity, and shipping address prior to order fulfillment.
- Mandatory Warning Acknowledgment: Buyers will be required to review and electronically acknowledge receipt of state-mandated warnings regarding prohibited uses (e.g., unlicensed firearm manufacturing or assembly of illegal configurations).
- Restricted Shipping Protocol: All affected orders will ship with Adult Signature Required (including ID check by the carrier). This adds a $5.00 surcharge to cover the additional carrier fees.
- Delivery Address: Shipments will only be sent to the exact address listed on the verified ID (no P.O. boxes or alternate addresses).
Standalone firearm barrels (per SB704) must still be shipped to a licensed California FFL dealer only—no direct-to-consumer shipping is permitted for these items.
Examples of affected items (subject to verification requirements and $5 surcharge) include, but are not limited to:
- Conversion kits
- Recoil springs and guide rods
- Grip extensions and magazine wells
- Trigger components and housings
- Compensators and certain performance-enhancing parts
Unaffected items (standard shipping rates apply with no additional verification or surcharge):
- Standard ≤10-round magazines
- Cleaning supplies and solvents
- Flashlights, snap caps, knives, rail covers, sights, and cosmetic items
